ArivaCV Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
The ArivaCV extension has one purpose: to check how well your resume matches a job you are viewing on LinkedIn, tailor your resume to it, and draft a recruiter email. This page covers the extension only; our main Privacy Policy covers your ArivaCV account.
1. What the extension reads
- The job posting you choose: the job title, company and description on the LinkedIn page you have open, read only when you click “Grab from page”, or the text you select or paste yourself.
- Your resume: a resume from your ArivaCV account, or a Word (.docx) file you upload into the extension.
It never reads your LinkedIn messages, contacts, connections, profile data, passwords, or your browsing on other websites, and it never clicks, posts or applies on LinkedIn for you.
2. What it sends to ArivaCV, and why
- The job text and your resume text, only when you ask for a match, a tailored resume or an email. Our servers send them to our AI providers, Google (Gemini) and, as a backup, Anthropic (Claude), only to produce that result.
- An uploaded .docx file, so our server can read its text and later apply your accepted edits. The file is processed in memory and is not saved on our servers.
- A tailored copy of an ArivaCV account resume is saved to your account only when you download it, like any resume you create on the website.
We keep a record of which AI feature you used and the credits it cost (no resume or job text) so your credit balance is correct.
3. What it stores in your browser
- A sign-in token for your ArivaCV account, so the extension stays connected.
- Resumes you uploaded into the extension, so you don't have to upload them on every job.
This stays in Chrome's storage on your device. Logging out on the ArivaCV website signs the extension out and ends its session on our servers; removing the extension deletes everything it stored.
4. Permissions it asks for
- Access to linkedin.com: to show the ArivaCV panel next to jobs and read the posting you choose.
- Access to arivacv.com: to connect to your account when you log in on the website.
- Storage: to keep the sign-in token and uploaded resumes described above. Word files with images can exceed Chrome's default storage size, which is why it asks for unlimited storage.
5. What we never do
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
- The extension contains no analytics or tracking code.
- We never use your data to build credit profiles or for any purpose other than the features above.
- No person at ArivaCV reads your resume or job text except when you ask us for support.
Data received through the extension is used in line with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Your choices and contact
You can delete uploaded resumes inside the extension, delete your account in Settings on the website, or uninstall the extension at any time. For questions or to request your data, email support@arivacv.com.
